MB - What new elements went in to the new album "Path Of The Weakening"?
JT - Another guitar, original drummer, a lot of overwiting and harmonys
MB - How long did it take to write the new album?
JT - About two months straight.
MB - Deeds of Flesh was created back in 1993. What were you
previous
bands like and what made you form
Deeds Of Flesh?
JT - Basically thrash bands. We all wanted to play more brutal style of music.
MB - Why did Repulse Records not re-sign you guys?
JT - We chose to work for ourselves and now hooked up with unique leader. They offered us a lot more.
MB - I heard you guys on an MTV (of all things)
sports show with BMX bikers riding
while a song they picked was playing. Do
you know the guy who was riding?
JT - Ya, we stayed at their pad during the first show of our U.S. tour down in southern Cal.
MB - What are you goals, musically?
JT - To keep it as brutal as fuck and have an original vibe to it.
MB - What is your opinion on todays underground
metal scene,
do you sense a resurgence in
death metal?
JT - I think it's bigger than ever. theirs a lot of sick bands
jumping off buttheirs
a lot that just aound like your next band that jumped
on the wagon.
MB - I read you guys played a show with Mortician, another band I love. How did it go?
JT - Ya, it was cool. We played a party where we live and some other show, which I cant remember.
MB - Out of all the shows you have played which was the most memorable?
JT - Theirs a lot. For me I really dug Brazil.
